One of North America’s oldest sports is lacrosse.
The sport, a creation of Native Americans and First Nations, has seen a resurgence as of late. Among that? A program for youth. So on the Daily Detroit News Byte, Sven interviewed Christianne Sims Malone. She’s the founder of Detroit City Lacrosse.
From their website:
Detroit City Lacrosse is a citywide youth organization dedicated to developing student athletes of character and integrity who will serve as positive members of the community. The organization supports boys and girls youth lacrosse in the city of Detroit. Detroit City Lacrosse uses the Lacrosse Athlete Development Model and principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance. The organization is a member of US Lacrosse’s Urban Lacrosse Association and also participates in their Keeper of Lacrosse Project, a movement to inspire and nurture the spirit of lacrosse.
We talk about what inspired Christianne to start the project, where it’s headed and how you can get involved. Learn more at their website or Facebook page.
