Looking for a unique date idea that will directly benefit the Metro Detroit community? Try the 11th annual Detroit Uncorked on Friday, Sept. 25 from 6-9 p.m. The event will be held at the Detroit headquarters of Gleaners Community Food Bank, 2131 Beaufait St, Detroit, MI 48207.
Gleaners will host the Kroger Co. of Michigan, Delta Air Lines, and the Detroit Wine Organization along with food and wine enthusiasts for one of the region’s largest wine tasting events.
Guests will enjoy a large selection of international wines and a choice selection of Michigan-made craft beers and premium spirits. In addition to delectable wines, guests will also have the opportunity to participate in food tastings from many of Metro Detroit’s popular restaurants, including Cafe Cortina, Punch Bowl Social, Joe Muer Seafood, Small Plates Detroit, Andiamo, and The Melting Pot.
The event will also include live entertainment and a silent auction. Guests will be able to bid on rare wines, iconic art, sports memorabilia, and nights on the town. During the event, the Detroit Wine Organization’s 2015 Winery of the Year Award will be presented to Caymus Vineyards.
Proceeds from Detroit Uncorked will benefit Gleaners. Each dollar raised will provide three meals for hungry Detroiters.

General Admission tickets are $85 and include tastings of over 250 wines, food tastings from Detroit restaurants, a silent auction, live entertainment by the Chrystal Starr Band, and complimentary valet parking.
If you want to get even more from Detroit Uncorked, there are a limited number of VIP Experience tickets available for $150. These tickets include access to all of the General Admission benefits plus a private strolling dinner by the Rattlesnake Club, access to select rare wines, a special spirits tasting, and live entertainment by the Daniree Duo. Jay Tower of Fox 2 and WNIC 100.3 will emcee the VIP Party.
