Small businesses are getting a boost up in Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park.
The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation announced the winners of the 11th round of the Motor City Match on Thursday. The awards ceremony was held at Michigan Farm to Freezer in Eastern Market.
Motor City Match is a program that helps new businesses open in the neighborhoods around the city by providing grants and resources to get business owners started.
The program is ran by the City of Detroit, the DEGC, the Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The twelve winners received cash grants between $15,000 and $65,000 dollars. That’s $500,000 dollars in total for this round.

Since 2015 Motor City Match has awarded grants to 125 small businesses from around Detroit, Hamtramck and Highland Park.
It is more than just money though, the program has helped more than 1,000 entrepreneurs with resources to help get their business started since it started.
