West Village will be gaining a new fitness studio on Friday, March 31 when the 2015 Comerica Hatch Detroit winner Live Cycle Delight opens.
We were able to take a tour of the new studio with Amina Daniels the owner of Live Cycle Delight before the official opening day as well as see their ribbon cutting.
The studio joins a number of new businesses in the West Village that have been calling the neighborhood home recently.
“I chose the West Village because of the neighborhood feel. Parking was also becoming part of an opportunity,” said Daniels. “I like the direction that this neighborhood is growing into. I like the community that is here. So it just happened to work out as the best location for Live Cycle Delight.”
Live Cycle Delight will offer group exercise classes that include TRX and core strength training, indoor cycling, outdoor social rides, and restorative yoga.
The three classes fit under the company’s three pillars of fitness; train, sweat, and restore. Daniels plans to diversify the classes and class times once she gets to know her community.
Live Cycle Delight currently has twelve instructors on the staff. Classes will be offered seven days a week between 6:00 a.m and 10:00 p.m. The studio will offer drop-in classes daily, and there will also be different class packages available.
The classes will be an average of 45 minutes long, with hour long classes on the weekends. If you need an express class during the week you’re in luck because they will also offer a 30 minute express class.
The studio will also have a mini juice bar ran by Detroit based Fresh101. The juice bar will offer organic cold pressed juices, bottled smoothies, salads and vegan snacks.
Live Cycle Delight was the winner of the 2015 Comerica Hatch Detroit contest.
The contest allows entrepreneurs an opportunity to win a $50,000 grant to open a brick and mortar location within the city of Detroit, Hamtramck, or Highland Park.
The next round of Hatch is right around the corner, they will begin accepting applications May 1.
