Did you know that Detroit is one of the best cities for men’s facial hair in the country? The Motor City comes in at number eight in the nation according to a list by Wahl.
With that in mind, Wahl, a company that makes various hair trimming tools, will be parking their 30 foot long mobile barbershop in a trailer in the heart of downtown Detroit, Campus Martius.
According to a release, on Friday master barbers will be offering free trims and looking for guys with the best mustache, beard or goatee to represent the city as Wahl Man of Detroit. The winner of the local contest has the chance to become the Wahl Man of the Year.
There’s a charity component to this as well. For every facial hair trim performed, Wahl is donating $1 to the nonprofit ZERO — The End of Prostate Cancer. They’re working to end prostate cancer.
The event is on Friday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
