If the recent seasonal transitions have you feeling a twinge out of sorts, then we’re right there with you. The rapid move from Summer to Fall to Winter is enough to make one feel akin to Alice falling down the rabbit hole.
The solution? Fully embrace this psychedelic-esque experience by checking out the Detroit psych-rockers Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor’s 6th annual ECHO Fest on November 21st.
Beginning at 6pm at the Loving Touch, located at 22634 Woodward Ave in Ferndale, this 18 and up event will showcase the Midwest region’s burgeoning and varied psychedelic music scene, including psych rock, shoegaze, garage and more.
Organizers take this festival to the next level by creating a full on psychedelic experience at the Loving Touch through impressive visuals and moody lighting. Attendees receive a free pair of old school 3D glasses work in tandem with the analog light show accompanying each band’s performance, creating an environment so majestic that, as the organizers say, ” time travel may become possible.”
This year’s ECHO Fest lineup features 14 bands on two stages, with nearly half the line up hailing from the Detroit area.
This year’s line-up includes ECHO Fest organizers Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor (Detroit), Heaters (Grand Rapids), Heaven’s Gateway Drug (Ft. Wayne), Electric Retro Spectrum (Paris, France), Mexican Knives (Detroit), Duende! (Detroit), Killer Moon (Chicago), Moonwalks (Detroit), and many more.
Tickets to the event are $12 at the door, doors open at 5:30PM and the music begins at 6:00PM.
As an added bonus, patrons who arrive early will enjoy $1 off all WAB beers from 6PM to 9PM.
