Haute to Death + Tunde Olaniran at Park Bar
Haute to Death, the purveyors of your monthly dance party at Temple Bar are throwing a New Year’s Eve bash again this year at the park bar. Haute to Death will be be providing dance grooves along with a performance by musical guest Tunde Olaniran. I went to this party last year and it was a blast so it comes highly recommended … also I’ve seen Tunde Olaniran and it’s a musical act you don’t want a miss. The dude knows how to party. Tickets are $16 and include complimentary coat check, photobooth, and late-night hors d’oeuvres along with drink specials and dreamscapes all night long.
Wright and Company
Wright and Company is throwing its inaugural NYE bash. Price of admission for this one is $120 which includes three drink tickets, a glass of champagne for the midnight toast, and passed appetizers all night long. There are no reserved tables or seats as “this is going to be a party,” says Wright & Co.
Motor City Gala At The Atheneum
At the Atheneum Suite Hotel is the Motor City Gala. They’ll have DJ’s spinning until 4am dance music from the decades and today. Mash-ups, Top 40, 80’s, 90’s and more, a live feed of the ball drop as well as champagne toast, party favors & balloon drop. This is billed as an “upscale” event for young professionals, couples, singles and groups. Steps away from the Greektown Casino-Hotel. Tickets start at $85.
Mega 80’s at the Magic Bag
If you want to ring in the new year old school style, or just love 80’s music, you should think about going to the Magic Bag. The Mega 80’s regularly play at Magic Bag in Ferndale and around SE Michigan, and are arguably the best cover band in the Detroit Area. Tickets cost $27 for this one.
#VICETEAM 2015 at St. Andrews Hall
For the kids out there who weren’t around in the 80’s at all. This is an 18-and-up option that should be a bangin’ NYE party. Stewe from Hot 107.5. along with DJ LEWW and DJ B-WIZ are providing the jams. It’s also the cheapest event, with ticket prices as low as $13.
New Year’s Eve Championship Reunion Celebration
Party with the 2004 NBA World Champion Detroit Pistons Team at Coach Insignia. This event is on the expensive side, with ticket prices starting at $300. However, you do get to party with Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, Ben Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, and Rasheed Wallace. Guaran-sheed that would be a good time and a NYE that you wouldn’t forget!
Motor City NYE – The D Drop
We might have saved one of the best for last (and it’s FREE). Detroit has our own version of the iconic ball drop, the D drop. You can find it all night in Campus Martius, and this event is the free one on the list and also has a kid-friendly portion. At 4 p.m. they start the Kids Zone with fun and games, activities, kids karaoke and musical entertainment, face painting, carriage rides and a Kids’ Drop at 6:30 p.m. for those with early bedtimes (of course, there’s still the big D drop at midnight for the adults.
Of course, being close to Campus Martius, there is ice skating, heated tents with bars for later in the night, and we’re told food trucks, fire pits, and live bands. Above is a map as the location of the drop has changed this year to Cadillac Square.
Have a great party that didn’t make the list? Hit us up in the comments!
