Hey friends,
Jer here. My sincere apologies as we had a tech issue rolling out our new website and sent a couple of posts that were NOT supposed to go into your inbox. They were only supposed to appear on our website.
Please leave in the comments how you'd like to punish our developer, Adam - should we withhold all Vernors for a month? Or just say "everyone makes mistakes" - which is our plan.
The whole team as been working very hard on this and to have such an inauspicious launch is embarrassing.
Anyway, the new thing is up at DailyDetroit.com - check it out. I was planning on writing eloquent words on the importance of having our own platform, and focused content instead of having to compete with social media, but we screwed up so... yeah. There ya go. New thing! Bookmark it!
We did a couple podcast episodes you might find valuable, and will be throwing an event for 313 Day.
An Apple store is coming to Downtown Detroit. So what could be next? Shianne joined me to imagine what other big brands could open locations downtown. [Listen on our website]
What else would you like to see - both if you're a city resident, and what would encourage you to drive down? Send in your suggestions at dailydetroit@gmail.com or in the comments!

Southwest Detroit got hit by bad flooding this weekend, with a whole neighborhood underwater during freezing temperatures. We had Malachi Barrett in from Bridge Detroit to talk about his experience, on the ground. What happened. What he found talking to residents, and more. Have a listen.
You can also read Bridge Detroit's reporting here.
🦜 Come out for 313 Day, enjoy Detroit-focused trivia and a live podcast! Friend of the show and barchaelogist Mickey Lyons will host the trivia part on Thursday, March 13th, and we'll do a live show during the intermission.
If you haven't been, Tocororo on East Fisher Service Drive in Eastern Market. For parking, you can use the free lot and walk along Russell Street.
The event is free, doors open at 5pm and trivia starts shortly after 6pm. [Eventbrite]

That's it for now, thanks so much for reading. Apologies again for the mishap. We really value your time and attention and don't look to screw up like that again.
Remember you are somebody — and we'll talk soon.
