Downtown Royal Oak has become a even more of a destination as of late with the addition of a Jolly Pumpkin, The Morrie, and quite a few other places to eat and drink.
But today, we bring you a closing.
A mainstay for the last decade or so in downtown Royal Oak, BlackFinn Ameripub, has quietly shut their doors and erased their Facebook page.
The restaurant was located at 530 South Main Street, between 5th and 6th streets.
This was confirmed by a physical visit and calling their phone number, where a recording said they are now closed for business.
We got the tip to check out what’s going on from the folks at IT in the D. They regularly held their events at the location and noticed the Facebook page had vanished.
“We had our first event there in 2008, and our first Pink Slip Party there in 2009. Blackfinn has been a fantastic place for our group to network, meet others in the IT industry, and have fun,” said Dave Phillips, co-founder of the job training and networking group. “The bartenders and staff have been more like friends than anything else, and they’ll be sorely missed, as will the venue.”
When we reached out BlackFinn, via phone said they’d be prepared to talk about it tomorrow. We will update this post with more information when we get it.
The BlackFinn at Partridge Creek in Clinton Township remains open.
