Bring extra money because there will be a live and silent auction during the event.

Global Fridays: Sinkane – Dearborn
If you’re in the mood for some live music I suggest heading to the Arab American National Museum on Friday night. Global Fridays is a concert series that is the sister event to the Concert of Colors festival.
The funk/rock group Sinkane will be performing this Friday at 8:00 p.m. The band is made up of Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, Jaytram, Ish Montgomery, Jonny Lam, Elenna Canlas and Amanda Khiri. Gallab is from Sudan, and his music has influences from East and West Africa.
There will be a youth workshop with Gallab that starts at 6:30 p.m. He will be speaking about art and identity.
Tickets for Global Fridays are $15 for the general public and $10 for AANM Members. You can purchase them in advance here.
Macdeath A New Musical Comedy – Hamtramck
If you enjoy Shakespeare’s Scottish play you might enjoy checking out this musical adaptation at The Planet Ant.
The adaptation is set in a post apocalyptic dystopian future and was written by Mikey Brown and Shawn Handlon from Planet Ant. (Off topic but if you watched Detroiters this week you might notice Handlon since he makes a cameo.)
Tickets are $20 per person, but during opening weekend they are half off. I suggest buying them online, the shows at Planet Ant always sell out.
The show opens Friday, February 24 and runs through March 18. If you go on Friday night there will be a free opening night party after the show. I hear that the party is going to be catered by Polish Village Cafe.
The show starts at 8:00 p.m. The Planet Ant is located at 2357 Caniff Street Hamtramck, Michigan 48212
P.S. There is also a fun event happening across the street at The Ant Hall. If you like Nicolas Cage this event is for you. Here’s the event to find out all the details.
