For those of you who have Monday off, happy three day weekend. Even for those who are not so lucky, don’t fret as there is still plenty to do this weekend.

It is supposed to be really beautiful this weekend, so go enjoy this list of things to do around metro Detroit.

Hamtramck Neighborhood Art Festival – Hamtramck

Take advantage of the nice weather this Saturday and head over to Hamtramck. This is the sixth year for the Hamtramck Neighborhood Art Festival, and it should be a lot of fun.

Unlike other art festivals, this one happens throughout the entire city of Hamtramck. There are installations in homes, studios, galleries bars and restaurants, and that is just cool.

There will be performances starting at 2:00 PM at the Hamtramck Disneyland.

You can head over to the HNAF Facebook page to find the schedule of events as well as all of the addresses and locations for the festival.

Detroit River Taco Hop – Wyandotte

Did you miss National Taco day this week? Don’t worry, you can still get your tacos on Saturday, September 8. Head downriver to Wyandotte for the Detroit River Taco Hop.

Festival goers will be able to purchase tacos from seven different restaurants and food trucks. The party doesn’t stop with just tacos, you will have over 20 Michigan Microbreweries to get some beer from.

This taco and beer festival will be held behind Whiskeys on the Water in downtown Wyandotte.

Tickets are $15 per person in advance, or $20 at the door. Proceeds go The Senior Alliance Meals on Wheels. (They will also be accepting pet food donations at the Pretties for Pitties table.)

This is a 21 and over event.

Hours: 3:00 PM-8:00 PM – Address: 2903 Biddle Avenue in Wyandotte.

Mt. Elliot Cemetery Tour – Detroit

Have you ever wondered who is buried in Mt. Elliot Cemetery? You’re in luck, because this weekend Preservation Detroit is offering a walking tour of the cemetery.

Mt. Elliot was consecrated in 1841, so there is a ton of interesting people who are buried there. I’m sure you will learn about the men behind the street names Beaubian, Campau, and Moross.

The cemetery is really hilly, so be sure to wear sensible shoes.

The tour starts at 2:00 PM and will meet at the front gate of Mt. Elliot. Be sure to be there 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour.

Tickets are sold in advance only, and they can be purchased here. Tickets are $20 per person, and $16 for members of Preservation Detroit.

Mt. Elliot is located at 1701 Mt. Elliot in Detroit.

If you love reading books, head over to Trinosophes in Eastern Market this weekend for the 2016 Detroit Art Book Fair.
