Hey all you lovely readers! This weekend is a special one because I will be heading up north for a girls weekend to celebrate my birthday.
Part of me is sad that I’m going up north because there are so many cool things happening this weekend.
Halloween Movie Mayhem
This weekend is chocked full of classic horror movies being screened throughout Detroit.
I couldn’t pick just one movie to include in this week’s City 5, so I made a special post with 9 movies being screened. You can find all of the details over there.
Dog Halloween Costume Party
My dog is not a fan of being dressed up, but if yours are then you should check out this fun doggy costume party on Saturday afternoon.
LC’s Mobile Pet Spa will be offering spa services for your pups.
Cass Corridog will be providing the prizes for best dress, most creative, scariest, and funniest Halloween costumes.
The party will be held at the Grand Circus Dog Park.

Machine Show Exhibition Opening Reception
There is a new exhibition opening in the Library Street Collective and the opening reception will be this Saturday, October 28.
The Machine Show will show the self-made artists tools of Paul Kremer, Mark Flood, Jason REVOK, and MOMO.

The Offical & Final PJ’s Lager House 10 Year Anniversary Party
Looking for a cool party on Saturday night? Head over to the Corktown staple PJ’s Lager House for their 10 Year Anniversary Party.
They’ve got a full line up of great bands playing throughout the night.
The $10 admission will get you into the show and some grub. They will be serving up Jambalaya, Gumbo and Red Beans & Rice.

Family Friendly Lions Tailgate
This Sunday is a home game for the Detroit Lions, which mean it’s time to get your tailgate plans together.
If you have children the idea of bringing them over to the Eastern Market tailgate might not be too ideal. But there is now a family friendly tailgate at Beacon Park downtown.
Come bring the kids out to listen to music, games, and other families who like the Lions.

Motor City Soul Club Soul Stomp
It’s that time again, it’s time to get down on the dance floor at the Marble Bar for the monthly Motor City Soul Club Soul Stomp.
As with every monthly Soul Stomp Dan Austin, Brad Hales and Erica Aytes will be slinging the vinyl. They will be joined by special guests Nick Speed and Adam Stanfel this month.
There’s no cover for this party.
