Crash Detroit Benefit Concert
One of my favorite festivals every summer is the Crash Detroit Festival. It is basically a street band extravaganza with bands coming from around the country to perform in Detroit.
This Friday night there will be a benefit concert at The Ant Hall to raise money to put on Crash Detroit. There will be a ton of bands performing throughout the night.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 per person, and it is going to a good cause.

Detroit Music Weekend
I’ve got two words for you. Aretha Franklin.
I don’t think I need to say much more. But seriously, if you’re not in the audience to see the Queen of Soul herself I might question you.

Shop Suey
If you have spent any time in Hamtramck you might remember that Chinese restaurant that was on the corner of Joseph Campau and Caniff. The building no longer holds a restaurant, instead it is being used as a community space called Bank Suey.
On the second Saturday of every month they turn the space into a market place called Shop Suey. There will be plenty of vendors for you to check out.

Motor City Pride
I have been looking forward to the Motor City Pride Festival for the past few months. There will be four stages with live music performances, drag queen performances, burlesque, and DJ’s.
I don’t want to play favorites, but I hear BenDeLaCreme will be performing at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
There will be a vigil on Saturday night to remember members of the LGBTQ community that have lost their lives due to violence.
The Pride Parade will be held on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The parade kicks off at Fort and Griswold and will end at Hart Plaza.
Hours: Saturday 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Admission: $5 per person kids under 12 are free

Indian Village Home Tour
I don’t know about you, but Indian Village is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Detroit. If you are looking for a walking tour I suggest heading out to the 44th Annual Indian Village Home Tour.
The tour includes six historic homes, two gardens, three churches, and two schools.
Hours: Saturday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Sunday 12:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Motor City Soul Club June Soul Stomp
It’s that time again to head over to The Marble Bar to listen to some rare soul and funk music from the 60’s and 70’s on Saturday.
All your usual record slingers for the Motor City Soul Club will be there like Dan Austin, Brad Hales, and Erica Aytes. This month Mike Dutkewych of Soul Deep will be the special guest.
Remember to get there early, it can get pretty packed. Hours: 10:00 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. Free admission.
