On Monday, June 22 at 10:06 p.m., Detroiters will experience the breathtaking view of the Ford Fireworks as they light up the Detroit skyline from the Detroit River downtown. Recognized as one of the world’s largest and most magnificent fireworks displays, this annual event is a jewel of the city, enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of spectators each year.
This year’s show will be themed “Colors of Love,” and will be choreographed again by the world-renowned Patrick Brault. With years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Brault and his team will be sure to further illuminate the beauty of the city.
Viewers can expect more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects in just one evening, all in celebration of our nation’s freedom and salutations to those who serve. For a second year, Ford will also host Focus on Freedom, a program honoring more than 250 active and retired military veterans and their families with an up-close view of the fireworks.
And the best way to properly celebrate the city’s newfound glow is to attend The Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party, one of The Parade Company’s largest and most popular fundraisers of the year. Offering the best seats in the city to view the show, guests of the event can also experience live music by Detroit’s own Fifty Amp Fuse, food by Andiamo, games, giveaways and more.
As its 57th year of filling Detroit with oohs and ahhs, The Parade Company has been a long-time producer of the event and is thrilled to uphold the event’s tradition yet again. Serving as the title sponsor of the Ford Fireworks since 2013, Ford Motor Company’s partnership with The Parade Company also includes title sponsorship of the Hob Nobble Gobble at Ford Field, and is the official vehicle of America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van.
The Ford Fireworks can be viewed on WDIV-Local 4’s live broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. A special radio simulcast with up-to-the-minute traffic and weather information throughout the day will also be live on News/Talk 760 WJR throughout the event.
