We hope you liked the video! There will be many more to come so keep your eyes on your Facebook stream. Here are a few key points about the Cycle Pub.
Let’s start out with their website, http://www.detroitcyclepub.com. That’s where you’ll go for all the info you need to book your ride!
It was started by Nick Blaszczyk and his fiance Jody McKenzie as a passion project in addition to their day jobs in marketing and management. The bikes are manufactured in Oregon, seat 15 riders, and top out at about 16 mph.
Tours last between two and two and a half hours with stops at Cheli’s Chili, Coaches Corner, Harbour House, and the Exodus Rooftop Bar and Grill. They’re working to build partnerships with other local businesses to add more stops.
Riders enjoy exclusive food and drink specials at each location, like $6 for a beer and a shot at Exodus.
They will run year round, rain, snow, or shine. While they’ve received sponsorship bids from national companies, the duo is focused on keeping all partnerships local. The business also gives back by donating the bike to charity events.
They have an exciting year coming up, which includes an appearance in the Corktown race on St. Patrick’s Day.
It’s affordable for just about anyone, with prices starting at $20 per person on the weekends and $17 per person on the weekdays. Groups can add on specials to enhance the ride, like an onboard bartender, catered meals, or even live music.
Parking is also free with your booking, making for a great option if you’re heading downtown for a game or concert. You can book up to a year in advance but rides are filling up fast.
