While the brick and motor location in Midtown won’t open until the spring of 2016, Chefs John Vermiglio and Joseph Giacomino of the upcoming Grey Ghost restaurant are armed and ready to wow Detroiters with a pop-up series featuring selections from the menu of their latest creation.
The pair have worked together in Chicago for nearly a decade, but Grey Ghost – named after the infamous Detroit Rum Runner – is their flagship restaurant in Detroit, and said to feature a meat-centric menu and cocktails.
In advance of the physical opening, the chefs will host the Ghost Tour pop-up series, which will treat guests to a 5-course meal highlighting the pair’s unique culinary style and approach. Each event will focus on a different animal, with the first of the series centering on the Cow.
Here’s the menu for the carnivorous souls out there:
The Cow Menu
- Veal Tongue / Brussels Sprouts / Pomelo / Tonnato
- Rock Shrimp / Green Onion / Butternut Squash / Beef Tendon
- French Onion Agnolotti / Short Rib / Aged Gruyere / Mustard Jam
- Steak / Carrot / Coffee / Smoked Creme Fraiche
- Cow’s Milk Sorbet / Cookies
The event takes place on Friday, December 4 at Yermans Street, located at 2995 Yermans St. in Hamtramck. Tickets are $75.00 and can be purchased here.
