Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Detroit’s food scene is more than coneys and pizza (even though we do love them). There’s more and more diversity of tastes by the month in our corner of the world, and it’s a great thing.
National writers have been taking note. We recently saw this piece in Jetsetter that was also just carried in Marriott Traveler that highlighted five places that have gotten quite the reputation, and thought we’d share.
They highlight Flowers of Vietnam, Katoi, the recurring dinner night of Hamtramck’s Revolver, Central Kitchen and Bar and Rose’s Fine Foods (which also received love from Bon Appétit Magazine as one of the best new restaurants in the country).
Although all strong choices, would you have selected these as our five best food representatives? Let us know in the comments on our Facebook page. And here’s the entire list.
The other cities on their list were New Orleans, Louisiana; Portland, Maine; Portland, Oregon; Indianapolis, Indiana; Houston, Texas; Providence, Rhode Island; and to top it off, New York New York. And here’s the full article.
