Detroit’s startup culture is growing, helping to strengthen the city and bring new talent in. Startup incubators and accelerators abound, and some of the region’s best organizations will collaborate to host Demo Week this Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 9-11.
2015 Demo Week is the result of Detroit Venture Partners, Bizdom, Techstars Mobility, Coolhouse Labs, and Desai Accelerator coming together to help match businesses with investors.
Each organization has attracted companies from around the world to compete in Demo Week. These companies have gone through an intensive program to educate and prepare them for the challenges they’ll face.
Demo Week starts on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Detroit Venture Partners location, 1555 Broadway. At 2 p.m., companies aligned with DVP and Bizdom will pitch to investors.
On Thursday at 2 p.m., Techstars’ companies will assemble at the Filmore Detroit to try their hand at securing funding.
After Thursday, Demo Week moves to Ann Arbor, where Coolhouse Labs and the new Desai Family Accelerator will hold a joint pitch event at the Michigan Theater, 603 E Liberty St., at 1 p.m.
This collaboration is a huge step for the startup community in Detroit. It offers unique opportunities not found elsewhere and offers the city a chance to embrace a diverse community.
