If you have made it down to the Downtown Detroit Holiday Market then you have seen some of the cool small businesses that have set up shop throughout downtown.
The market was originally planned to close on Sunday, January 7. However, according to a spokesperson, the small businesses in the market have experienced such success that the market will continue to stay open until the end of January.
The Market will be open Thursday through Sundays until January 28.
Word on the street is that there might also be a spring market.
While the plans for that market is still under wraps, it looks like there would be a mix of new small businesses and some of the businesses that are currently at the Holiday Market.
I would be pretty excited about a spring market because in reality there isn’t a ton of retail options in downtown.
Sure, there are some big name stores in Merchants Row like Nike, Under Armour and Moosejaw. But I prefer to shop at small businesses as much as possible.
As soon as I know more information about the potential spring market I will let you know.
