Oh, Michigan roads and their constant repair-and-replace cycle, you’re the gift that keeps on giving.
MDOT (Michigan Department of Transportation) sent out word that now through late Tuesday you should expect delays by Metro Airport on I-94, with exact times unknown for emergency concrete replacement of two lanes of freeway. If you’re heading to the airport, they strongly encourage people to use the entrance off of I-275.
I-94 eastbound from Merriman to Middlebelt roads will have only the left lane open for emergency replacement of concrete in the two right lanes beginning sometime this afternoon through late Tuesday, 6/21/16.
The exit to the common ramp to Middlebelt/Merriman roads will remain open and those lanes can be used for freeway traffic and remain open for airport access.
The entrance ramps from Middlebelt to eastbound will also remain open.
Airport traffic is strongly advised to use I-275 to Eureka Road for airport entrance.
Westbound I-94 from Telegraph Rd to I-275 will continue to have night work taking it down to one lane from 8pm-5am each night and entire weekends.
