It’s one of Detroit’s most beloved brands, and now they’re going to be part of one Detroit’s most beloved and visible events.

November 2017 is the 110th birthday month for the company, and they’re celebrating with a new parade float as part of the nationally-televised America’s Thanksgiving Parade that will roll down Woodward Thanksgiving morning.

Founded on the east side of Detroit in 1907 by two brothers, the company originally known as the “Feigenson Brothers Bottling Works” is still headquartered on Gratiot Avenue in the city of Detroit.

“While lots of folks who’ve lived in the Detroit area have enjoyed their share of Faygo floats, usually in a tall glass with some ice cream, we are deeply proud to celebrate our 110th birthday with a float in another time-honored Detroit classic, America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” said Al Chittaro, president of Faygo Beverages.  “We want to thank the generations of wonderful people, in Michigan and beyond, that have made Faygo a name known around the world for more than a century of good times with great pop.”

We were hoping for a full look, but final preparations are underway so we weren’t able to get ahold of a picture of the whole thing ahead of tomorrow morning.

The theme of the 91st edition America’s Thanksgiving Parade is “Woodward!! Avenue of Dreams!”

The theme celebrates the beauty of Detroit’s Woodward Avenue as well as the completion of the QLINE streetcar.

ON TV AND RADIO:

The parade will be broadcast locally on WDIV-TV Local 4 and in more than 190 cities across the country on Thanksgiving Day.

On the radio, WJR/760 AM’s Paul W. Smith will host a live pre-parade show from 6 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. Also, CBS Radio will provide live parade coverage hosted by 104.3 WOMC’s Bobby Mitchell and Stacey DuFord (Mornings WOMC) from 10 a.m. – noon.
