There’s a brawl happening at Eastern Market soon. Spatulas will be shined, grills will be fired up, knifes will be sharpened for the biggest brawl in town. Burger Brawl, that is.
This street fair-style competition returns to the Eastern Market, Saturday, August 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample all the competing burgers from nearly 20 restaurants around the metro Detroit area and vote for their favorite.
The voting will be by app, and people will be able to vote via the Burger Brawl app to vote between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All results will be updated in real-time via onsite screens and the web. The top four restaurants will get the chance to create a custom burger blend on-site to be ranked by a five-member panel of celebrity judges at 3:00 p.m.
The event will be emceed by Ken Daniels the voice of Detroit Red Wing hockey, and the event is so big Erskine street in Eastern Marketwill be shut down between Russell and Rivard.
“We have some great burgers in this town and this is the only time you can taste them all in one place,” says Scott Rutterbush, principal of Dine Drink Detroit and organizer of Detroit Burger Brawl. “If you love burgers, it’s simple: you can’t miss Detroit Burger Brawl.”
Tickets start at $25. VIP tickets, which allows you early access at (10:30 a.m.), entry into the VIP tent and bar, and two drink tickets are $55. Tickets can be purchase at https://app.gopassage.com/events/burger-brawl-2016.
