Here’s some free Dad rock, but no kids are required.
The GM Renaissance Center, partnered with Detroit’s #1 for Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX-FM presents the 10th annual Rockin’ on the Riverfront Concert Series, this year with bigger headlining names for the 2015 season.
The series starts on July 10 and runs through August 21 with the first appearance being the Doobie Brothers among other classic names that are geared to entertain all ages.
In previous years, the Rockin’ on the Riverfront Concert Series has featured big names such as The Guess Who, Leon Russell, Starship and others. This year, being the 10th anniversary of classic rock on the Detroit Riverfront, the lineup is one no one can afford to miss. Not to mention that the entire series is free.
“This is a milestone year for Rockin’ on the Riverfront,” said Claudia Killeen, General Motors Renaissance Center Development manager. “As we look to celebrate our tenth anniversary, we’re thrilled to announce the highly anticipated lineup for this summer.”
You can stake out at your favorite riverfront restaurant for dinner and a show, or get access to the sitting and standing areas around the stage and have a rockin’ night out in the D. With Joe Muer Seafood, Andiamo Detroit Riverfront, Coach Insignia or Volt Lounge, you can dine in and enjoy your night right on the water with some classic rock hits.

July 10: The Doobie Brothers
July 17: .38 Special
July 24: Dennis DeYoung of Styx
July 31: Burton Cummings of The Guess Who
Aug. 7: Creedence Clearwater Revisited
Aug. 14: Kansas
Aug. 21 – Eddie Money
Shows start at 8 p.m. and end about 10 p.m. on each of the Friday nights.
