The developers behind The Albert, a luxury apartment building on Griswold street in Capitol Park, have been busy filling up their retail spaces as of late.
Today we got word that the planned Thai restaurant, Go! Sy Thai, will open this Friday, January 20.
Go! Sy Thai also has a location in the Midtown neighborhood of the city. It’s the fast casual spin on the sit down Sy Thai restaurant, of which there are three. They are in St. Clair Shores, Birmingham and Troy.
The Capitol Park Go! Sy Thai location will offer 29 seats, a condensed menu, and delivery service to Downtown and Midtown Detroit.
The interior was designed by Patrick Thompson Design.
“Our family has been serving traditional Thai food to metro Detroit for more than two decades, and this new location will allow more people the opportunity to become fans of Go! Sy Thai,” said Cedric Lee, owner of Go! Sy Thai in a statement. “We have seen incredible support from the Detroit community and we look forward to many more years of creating amazing meals for the people who live here.”
On the ground floor is located a storefront for Detroit Bikes and the Dessert Oasis Coffee Shop, as well as Bad Luck Lounge is off the alley in the back. Construction is underway for an Italian restaurant (La Laterna), clothing retailer Bird Bee and a pet boutique (City Bark).
Opened in 2015, the Albert is a 127-unit, 12-story luxury apartment complex developed by Broder & Sachse that opened in July 2015. The building, built in 1929, was designed by famed architect Albert Kahn as offices. The structure served as senior housing from the 1980s until the most recent conversion beginning in 2014.
Go! Sy Thai is located at 1214 Griswold in Detroit.
