The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle will see some changes in 2019.
Most notably, access to the famous Scott Fountain will now be available for all fans. In most previous years, the fountain was isolated behind sponsor chalets, and last year it was the site of the winner’s circle ceremonies.
Here’s a high level overview of the other changes.
Grandstand one moves to the driver’s left side of the track across from pit lane.
Turn three has added an additional grandstand.
Grandstand 7 moves out of the way of the new Oudolf garden and will be relocated to the horseshoe at Turn 7. It will be general admission.
However, a fan favorite will not be making a return. The SST series, the stadium super trucks is not coming back to Detroit for 2019.
