Local video production and photography studio Green Sky is the next suburban-based company to move their business to the rapidly expanding downtown district.
The company, known for impressive work with brands like Cadillac and Toshiba – as well as this awesome video – moved from their small studio in downtown Royal Oak to the newly renovated 607 Building located at the intersection of Congress and Shelby.
The new 2600 square foot space is a fully customized design built in a 9-story 1920’s art deco-style building. Fully equipped with a video/photography studio, green screen, editing suite, and lounge area to meet and entertain the company’s fast growing client roster.
According to Green Sky Founder, Adam Green, the move downtown was an easy sell for this innovative company.
“We decided to move because we love Detroit and want to be a part of the city and it’s current rejuvenation. The move will provide us with a huge opportunity for growth, and opens the door for more relationships with potential organizations within the downtown Detroit footprint.”
As with most companies who’ve made the move into the city limits, another selling point was the blank canvas appeal offered by newly renovated buildings downtown.
Tenants have the option of creating a space that will suit their specific needs, rather than moving into a more static space that requires a more significant overhaul if the company is looking for a more customized space.
Green says that although Green Sky is a boutique style firm with a small staff, the move is just another sign of the downtown area’s progress.
“Downtown Detroit is a fun and exciting place to be. With continued support and investment from larger investors and small business owners who are willing to “jump off the ledge” and make the move downtown, I think the future is exciting.”
The company begins their transition to their new space today and hopes to be settled in and fully operational shortly there after.
