Do you have any home movies from the 1960s collecting dust in the basement?
If you do, it might be time to pull those out again because CNN, Zero Point Zero, and Anthony Bourdain are interested in checking them out.
As we’ve written in the past, Anthony Bourdain the executive producer and star of a 4-part CNN series about Detroit in the early 1960’s. The series is inspired by the book “Once in a Great City” by David Maraniss.
The series will begin in 1962 and will be focused on a time when Detroit was full of optimism, ambition, and pride. When the auto industry was going full steam, and Detroit had close to 2 million residents.
The producers are currently looking for home footage of Detroit from 1960 to 1966.
They are also looking for personal footage of Detroit including: Motown performances, music venues, police, neighborhoods, schools, churches, Civil Rights events, downtown, department stores, shopping malls, auto shows, the UAW, automobiles, roads and highways, auto factories, and assembly lines.
