Some say it’ll be a marriage in heaven. Others, shall we say, are not so excited. But when the news first came out, people couldn’t stop talking about it.
But it’s true – a combined IHOP and Applebees restaurant is coming to the Millender Center in downtown Detroit.
First announced late last year, the combination restaurant is going in what was once a Sweet Lorraine’s on Jefferson, across from the RenCen.
Construction on the 11,939-square-foot, 300-seat co-branded Applebee’s/IHOP concept is underway. It’s targeted to open in Spring 2018.
As to the menu, a release says it will feature several “guest-favorite menu items from both Applebee’s and IHOP, along with a barista coffee bar.”
Team Schostak Family Restaurants say they will employ more than 100 people at the restaurant.
