Head down to Pewabic Pottery’s historic east side studio (10125 Jefferson Avenue) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 to help make Pewabic’s 24th annual Empty Bowl fundraiser a success.
The event will benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank and is free to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase from over 800 one-of-a-kind handmade bowls designed by local artists and students to raise money for Gleaners. Student bowls are $5, and artist bowls range from $15 to $40. The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction.
Everyone who purchases a bowl will be treated to a complementary lunch featuring a wide selection of soups, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free types, as well as freshly baked breads.
Participating restaurants with their featured soup include:
Peabody’s – Chicken Noodle Soup
Picano’s – Minestrone
Sero’s – Lemon Rice
Beverly Hills Grill – Beef Mushroom Barley
Vivio’s – Unstuffed Cabbage
Sindbad’s – Clam Chowder
Zoup! – Chicken Pot Pie and Vegetarian Soup
Russell Street Deli – Vegan soup
St. John Hospital/Touch Point – Cheeseburger Chowder
Julian Brothers Fine Food & Bakery and Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria are donating fresh baked breads.
“We are so grateful to Pewabic Pottery for their friendship and continued support these past 24 years,” said Gleaners President Gerry Brisson. “Once again they are opening their doors and tapping the support of talented artists to help feed our hungry neighbors.”
