Michigan is about to get our first L.L. Bean store, the company announced today. The new location will be in Clinton Township at Partridge Creek Mall.
The store will be 14,000 square feet and will feature L.L. Bean’s brand of active and casual apparel and footwear, and also outdoor lifestyle gear. The Maine-based chain founded in 1912 currently has 42 locations.
“People in the Macomb County area love their outdoor activities. From paddling and fishing on the Clinton River and in Lake St. Clair, to cycling along the Clinton River Trail, we know this is going to be a great home for us because of all of the great outdoor activities to be had, all within a stone’s throw from the store,” said Ken Kacere, senior vice-president and general manager of retail at L.L.Bean in a statement. “Lots of people know us through our catalogs and web site, but our newest store in Michigan will give folks in the Detroit area the chance to experience the true essence of an outdoor store and the L.L.Bean brand firsthand.”
The store expects to hire 100 people and is targeted to open in summer of 2016. If you’re interested in a job there, here’s the link.
“The L.L.Bean store is a terrific addition to our retail merchandise mix by providing apparel and outdoor lifestyle gear for family members of all ages and will be very popular with our customers,” said Wendy Batiste-Johnson, General Manager at The Mall at Partridge Creek.
