One of the things about Detroit is that it’s a great media town, and it has been for many years. Turning back the clock to 1986, The Electrifying Mojo was granted an interview by Prince after a birthday performance at Cobo Hall.
By the way – if you don’t know the Electrifying Mojo and consider yourself a fan of Detroit culture, you should take a second and brush up. The guy is a legend, our own musical Wizard of Oz who was on the radio as cool as he was mysterious and bears large responsibility for the rise of Detroit techno as well as introducing many artists to the Detroit market. Part of that magic is getting this interview, as Mojo was an early supporter of Prince – a rare very open interview for someone like Prince, a man who was notoriously guarded. We’re going to get out of the way and you go enjoy. It’s about 15 minutes long in two sections below.
