If you are a fan of Motown Music and the northern soul movement then you need to get your tickets to one of the coolest events of the year.
This week is Detroit A Go Go, which will feature numerous acts from the golden age of music. The event will take place on Thursday, October 19 through Sunday, October 22. Event goers will be treated to live performances, meet and greets, a visit to the Motown Museum, and a guided tour of Detroit.
Did I mention that over 300 people from Britain are flying across the pond to come spend time in our fine city for this event? Well, they are. Most have already started their trip for this once in a life time event.
There will be live performances from The Contours, The Dramatics, Fantastic Four, Kim Weston, Ronnie McNeir, The Velvelette’s, and so many more artists.
You will also get a chance to check out some killer DJ’s as well. Come out to see DJ’s like Dan Austin, Brad Hales, Pete Fowler, Detroit A Go Go’s organizer Phil Dick, and many more.
Tickets for Detroit a Go Go range from $28 for a single night ticket for any of the evening performances, $79 for all four nights of evening performances, and $99 for the full event pass.
The evening performances will take place at Bert’s Motown Theater in Eastern Market starting at 7:30 each night of the event.
In addition to the four days of live music, tours and meet and greets there will be an Opening Party with Melvin Davis on Wednesday night at The Marble Bar.
The Party starts at 8:00 p.m. and there is a $15 cover.
The Marble Bar is located at 1501 Holden Street Detroit, Michigan 48208
