Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of one of the most influential companies today, toured Southeast Michigan hitting a variety of stops, including a Ford Factory, Jolly Pumpkin, and Buddy’s Pizza.

It’s part of a travel tour he set as a goal for himself to see all 50 states and connect directly with people around the country.

Along the way he tried his hand at working on the line at Ford, which made digital front page news.

“Working on the line at an assembly plant is physically hard, and the people I met talked about how tiring it is and how worn down you get. Each person told me separately how important it is to have good shoes because you’re essentially walking on a treadmill for 10 hours a day. Every 52 seconds, you have to go through your set of tasks — 650 times a day. You have to be perfect, but the biggest challenge is having the focus to do the same thing over and over again. The people I met are so good they keep the line running at full speed and listen to audio books or music in one earbud to stay engaged.”

He also talked with students about Muslim relations and ways communication could bring us together at the University of Michigan Dearborn…

Zuckerberg also stopped through Jolly Pumpkin in Midtown… as evidenced by this “so not trying to look like I’m taking a picture but I’m so taking a picture of you” shot.

Portia Roberson, the Director of Ethics and Civil Rights for the city of Detroit, said on Flashpoint this morning that through some previous Obama contacts she had the opportunity to take the Facebook founder through some Detroit neighborhoods to the Motor City Java House and over near the 10th Detroit Police Precinct.

That’s over at Livernois and Elmhurst on the west side by I-96.

The most epic of photos we found online was during Zuckerberg’s stop at Buddy’s to meet with undisclosed business leaders. Get that Detroit style pizza, man.

Zuckerberg is now on to his next stop, Ohio.
