It finally feels like fall, which means it is the perfect time for a chili cook off.
Fire and police departments from across metro Detroit will be competing for Detroit’s Best First-Responder Chili Champion 2017. The competition takes place on Saturday, November 4 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
This is the 4th Annual Metro D 10 Alarm Chili Challenge. The competition was started by Charlie LeDuff and restaurant owners Grace Keros of American Coney Island and Dean Bach of Dino’s in Ferndale.
This year the competition will take place behind Dinos and Jay’s Penalty Box.
The public is encouraged to come sample and vote for the best chili.
There is a $10 donation at the door. The proceeds will go towards the Detroit Firemen’s Fundand Detroit Benefit and Protective Association.
