Since 2015, the Give Detroit Challenge has raised more than $130,000 for Detroit-based non-profits, and it’s back for another year.
The Give Detroit Challenge is hosted by Hour Detroit Magazine. It’s an online fundraising competition that’s running through Thursday, April 18.
Winners of the Give Detroit Challenge will receive:
- First place – $15,000
- Second place – $10,000
- Third place – $5,000

- Athletes Unlimited
- Canterbury-on-the-Lake
- Central City Integrated Health
- Coalition on Temporary Shelter
- Cranbrook Horizons-Upward Bound
- Detroit Public Schools Foundation
- Evangelical Homes of Michigan Foundation
- Franklin Wright Settlements
- Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute
- Life Directions
- National Kidney Foundation of Michigan
- Ronald McDonald House Charities Detroit
- Sanctum House
- Services to Enhance Potential
- U CAN-CER VIVE Foundation
- United Way for Southeastern Michigan
All participating charities will also have the opportunity to win additional funding through daily bonus challenges, as well as a special weekend contest. Of course, charities that do not win a grand prize keep the money raised during the one-week campaign.
