Motor City Re-Store Info Session
Last summer Mayor Mike Duggan announced a new program called Motor City Re-Store. The program will help existing Detroit businesses fix up their curb appeal.
The program provides matching grants up to $25,000 businesses that are selected.
If you are interested in learning more about the Motor City Re-Store there will be an information session this week in Hamtramck. You can register for the information session here.
Applications for Motor City Re-Store are due January 8, so this is the last info session before the cut off. You can apply for the program here.

SpaceLab Book Club: Find The Lost Dollars
If you work in the architecture and engineering field then this book club might be right up your alley.
SpaceLab Coworking space will be holding an eight week book club to discuss the book “Find the Lost Dollars” by June Jewell. Each session will take place on Saturday mornings. The First meeting will be Saturday, January 6.
Book club meetings are $5 per session or $30 for all eight meetings. You can register here.

Tech248 January 2018 Meet Up
Do you work in the tech industry? Tech248 will be hosting a meet up on Tuesday, January 9.
Come out and network with some of Oakland County tech companies and listen to Jon Eyerman speak about dark fiber.
This event is free, however you will need to register in advance.

Under The Radar: ML #UnNetworking Event
Join Michigan Leadership at their monthly #UnNetworking Event at the Skyline Club-Southfield on Tuesday, January 9.
These events help develop relationships, friendships, and finding people with common interests. There is also an opportunity to connect with potential employees, employers, clients and more.
There will be hors d’oeuvres and drink specials.
The event is free, however you will need to RSVP as well as preregister.

AMA Detroit Mix and Mingle
The Detroit branch of the American Marketing Association will be hosting a mix and mingle on Tuesday, January 9 at HopCat in Royal Oak.
If you work in the field this is a great way to connect with others who work in all fields of marketing.
There will be a cash bar and complimentary appetizers.
Admission is $5 but members and students are free. You can register here.

JMJ Phillip and Turning Point at Business and Brews
On Thursday, January 18 JMJ Phillip and Turning Point will be hosting their annual NeckTie Drive. The event will be at Granite City Food and Brewery in Troy.
Come network with other professionals from all industries while enjoying a cocktail and appetizers.
If you have a bunch of ties taking up space in your closet, they will be collecting new and gently used neckties. The ties will be re-purposed into rose pins, tote bags, purses, and aprons.
