In April we did a story on the Container Store coming to Novi, and a good number of people flipped their lids over it.
The Grand Opening of the Container Store was on Saturday, June 4 and there were more than 100 shoppers in line and waiting to get their organization game on.
But that’s not all. The Container Store partnered with Forgotten Harvest on opening weekend and donated a percentage of the Grand Opening sales – totaling $18,000.
Forgotten Harvest is what is known as a food rescue operation. It, with its fleet of trucks, gets ahold of extra food that would otherwise be thrown out from restaurants and events and then puts that food to use throughout the metro Detroit community.
“Partnering with an organization like Forgotten Harvest is an incredible honor for our company,” said Eva Gordon, Vice President of Stores, Training & Development, & Recruiting for The Container Store. “They are truly invested in the entire Metro Detroit community. We couldn’t have found a better match and it’s an organization we know that our customers and employees are passionate about.”
The new Container Store is located at 43525 West Oaks Drive in Novi, Michigan.
