The Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood will soon have a new retail store called POST. The store will be located on the corner of Kercheval and Marlborough Street.
The Detroit based design firm Mutual Adoration will officially open the flagship store on Wednesday, October 11.
The store, design studio, and production space was formerly a U.S. Post Office that was built in the 1940’s.
Mutual Adoration, Leadhead Glass, Tait Design Co., and Scarlet Crane Creations will be located in the 10,000 square foot building.
POST will carry Mutual Adoration’s full line of furniture, frames and housewares. Customers will find Abigail Murray ceramics, prints from Marcy Davy and Vichcraft, soap from Cellar Door Soaps, and JKM soy candles. The store will feature American made goods from studios across the country.
“We’re very excited to open our new store and become even more engaged in the community. POST will be Detroit’s destination to buy a handmade gift, design a custom dining table, or get your holiday shopping done.” said Clare Fox, co-owner at Mutual Adoration and POST.
Later this fall POST will also offer classes, workshops, special events and tours of the workspaces.
The Grand Opening party will be held on Saturday, October 21 from noon until 7:00 p.m.
POST is located at 14500 Kercheval Avenue Detroit, Michigan 48215
