Detroit will get a brand-new skyscraper. Midland-based Chemical Bank says it plans to relocate its headquarters and more than 500 executives and employees to downtown Detroit. There, it plans to build a 20-story building at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Elizabeth Street on the site of a surface parking lot next to the Fillmore Theater.

A Southeast Michigan woman who claims she was forced to give birth in a filthy Macomb County Jail cell is suing Macomb County and 10 other parties. Jessica Preston was eight months pregnant in 2016 when she was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Preston was held in jail after being unable to make bond. According to the lawsuit, Preston told the jail staff she was 8 months pregnant and had a c-section scheduled because of having a high risk pregnancy.
