Corktown will have a new breakfast and lunch spot in the neighborhood this spring.
FOLK will be located on the corner of Trumbull and Bagley in the same building as The Farmer’s Hand, owned by Kiki Louya and Rohani Foulkes. They are also the owners of The Farmer’s Hand that opened in October of 2016.
The 24 seat café will have a seasonal menu that will offer all day breakfast as well as lunch dishes. The menu will focus on comfort dishes “from around the world,” like quiche, veggie has, parfaits, meat pies, salads, and grain bowls.
The café will also have a signature “Bread Social,” described as Zingerman’s bread topped with rustic ingredients.
There is no word on the opening date, but they will start hiring staff in March.
Speaking of hiring, if you or someone you know is looking for a job there you can apply in person at The Farmer’s Hand or email resumes to Rohani Foulkes.
FOLK is currently looking for baristas, cooks, kitchen hands, and runners.
The Farmer’s Hand is located at 1701 Trumbull Avenue Detroit, Michigan, 48216.
