88 Miles Of Detroit Streets To Be Repaved

Detroit has kicked off work on a $58 million project to repave 88 miles of major and local roads across the city. Plans call for resurfacing 58 miles of residential streets and 30 miles of major roadways, including parts of Joy Road, Russell Street in Eastern Market, Fenkell, Cadieux, McGraw and East McNichols, otherwise known as Six Mile. Detroit’s City Bus System To Partner With Lyft To Get Riders To Late Night Jobs

A pilot program in the city of Detroit might show the way of the future, combining mass transit with on-demand ride sharing services. Seven Detroit neighborhoods would see $130 million in investment as part of a major, coordinated campaign with the Kresge Foundation. They’re going to do it through expanding the Strategic Neighborhood Fund. The first round was a $42 million campaign focused on three Detroit neighborhoods.
