If you are struggling to come up with dinner ideas for Thursday, August 4, we have a suggestion for you – head over to the Royal Oak Farmers Market for some pizza.
We feel pretty strongly about our pizza here at Daily Detroit.
Thursday night is the 4th Annual Motor City Pizza Fest, and it should be a great opportunity to try all types of pizza. The event website boasts that they will have all types of pizza available to try out from thin crust, deep dish, wood fired, and even gluten free.
During the event there will be a celebrity panel to award the best pizza in Metro Detroit. Come see Robin Murdoch, Ronnie Dahl, Glenda Lewis, Tati Amare, and Steve Pardo try these ten different pizzas and pick the best one.
The pizzerias that will be battling for this years title are; Belle Isle Pizza, Primos, Detroit Style Pizza Company, Detroit Pizza Factory, Dolly’s Pizza, Curry Crust, Jolly Pumpkin, Shield’s, Tania’s, and Marconi’s Pizza.
There will be plenty of things to do at the Motor City Pizza Fest besides fill your bellies with pizza. They will also have live music, a clown for the kids, and face painting.
Since this is the Motor City Pizza Fest it would seem silly to not have a new car showroom. Matthew Hargreaves Chevrolet and Hodges Subaru are sponsors of the event and they will be bringing some cars for people to check out.
Tickets for the pizza party are $10 per person if purchased in advance, or $12 at the door. Children under 12 get in for free. For the price of admission you receive two slices of pizza from your choice of pizzeria. Additional slices are $2.50 per slice.
The Motor City Pizza Fest starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes until 10:00 p.m.
