At Daily Detroit we’re always on the lookout fun things to do around town, and we recently stumbled on something that everyone from long time residents to visitors will enjoy.
Founded in 2007 Linda Yellin created Feet on the Street Tours as a way to introduce – or reintroduce – visitors and residents to the City of Detroit with her unique and engaging walking tours.
While they’ve been around for a few years, it’s possible you’ve not yet had the chance to give these great tours a shot, so we wanted to lay out a few options for you.
First, try out their most popular option, the Come Hungry Leave Happy Tour. You’ll stroll from shed to shed in the legendary Eastern Market, enjoying locally produced pizza, popcorn, pickles and pastries; specialty sausages, cheeses and vinegars; authentic spinach pies and spreads.
You’ll also meet local growers and vendors, try their products, and learn some tips for improving your health with Michigan foods. You’ll even visit an art gallery located in a former brewery or a letterpress shop.
Click here to book your Come Hungry Leave Happy Tour on any of the following dates: 10/17, 11/14, 12/12.
If you’ve already conquered the market’s food offerings, then check Feet on the Street’s newest tour of The Murals In The Market.
You may have seen our story on these monumental works of art a few weeks ago, and now you have the chance to experience them first hand and get the story straight from the artists who created them.
