The holidays in Detroit are a time for giving back, and leading the charge this and every year The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit, who will serve a hot, delicious breakfast to Detroiters in need this Thanksgiving to help reduce hunger this holiday.
Sponsored by the Delphi Foundation, who have provided both funds and volunteers to the cause, the meal will feature a variety of breakfast options like quiche, breakfast potatoes, sausage, danishes, juice, coffee and milk.
In addition to a hot and tasty meal, Delphi and The Salvation Army will also outfit those in need with warm winter clothing like hats, socks, gloves and scarves.
The event takes place this Thursday from 9am – 10am at Acres of Hope inside the Booth Services Building, located at 3737 Humboldt in Detroit
Last year, The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit, who are the single largest provider of social services in Michigan after the state government, helped provide 3,024,046 meals and 736,695 nights of shelter to those in need.
