Timelapse footage is a fun thing. Sometimes it can be used for sweepingly beautiful videos – and other times, just to get a point across.
The City of Detroit just released this two minute promo video about two houses being demolished in the city. It’s kinda cool in the gawk-at-construction-equipment way to watch the houses come down.
The city also recently released a demolition tracker to keep up on the plans for taking down houses.
The program, however, isn’t without some controversy.
A demolition company, Adamo, recently confirmed that they have handed information to federal inspectors for the SIGTARP program as part of an investigation of the project. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan has said “we are cooperating 100 percent with everybody who wants to investigate.”
The city has taken down nearly 10,000 structures since 2014.
