You can watch Seth Meyers five nights a week on NBC’s Late Night, but you can see him up close and personal when he headlines Forgotten Harvest’s 25h annual Comedy Night June 17 at the Fox Theatre.
The event will help raise money for Forgotten Harvest, which rescues food by collecting surplus, prepared and perishable food from grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors, and other health department-approved sources and delivered it free of charge to 250 emergency food providers throughout metro Detroit. It rescued more than 43 million pounds of food last year.
Meyers will join the ranks of Tim Allen, David Coulier, Martin Short, Sinbad, and another noted late night talk show host, Jay Leno, all of whom have headlined Comedy Night. Through these comedians and the quarter century of its existence, this has become Detroit’s premiere comedy event.

There should be no shock that a guy who hosts a talk show on a major network is no fly-by-night funnyman, but people may not be aware of some of his accolades.
Meyers is an Emmy Award-winning writer and current host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” He was named one of the 2014 TIME 100, TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people and hosted the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.
His original claim to fame was as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, where he was a cast member for a total of 13 seasons, serving as head writer for nine of those seasons and “Weekend Update” anchor for eight. In 2011, he won the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for host Justin Timberlake’s musical monologue.
Meyers also received 10 additional Emmy nominations for his work as a writer in television.
Comedy Night is Saturday, June 17 at the Fox Theatre. Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 28. Prices range from $25 – $150 and will be available through the Fox Theatre box office or at www.olympiaentertainment.com.
