Grand Cirque Brasserie will open in the David Whitney Building this fall. The menu is classical French with dishes like lamb cassoulet and quiche lorraine.


Avalon Bakery in Midtown celebrates its new Heart and Soul coffee blend by offering free cappuccino and espresso now until Friday during store hours. The blend was made through their partnership with Great Lakes Coffee.


The normally pricey Bacco Ristorante in Southfield celebrates its 13th anniversary with a $13 menu now through May 15, except Saturday.


Mae’s dinner in Pleasant Ridge will reopen under new ownership at the end of this week. Cinnamon roll French toast and pie has been added to the menu, which is mostly the same.


Corner Tap Room will open at Comerica Park on May 8. Baseball fans can dine surrounded by Tigers memorabilia while drinking cold beer and eating gourmet versions of American favorites like pork rinds and deviled eggs.


Chartreuse Kitchen and Cocktails will open less than two weeks from now. It will feature quirky and upscale American food in a lush plant-filled setting.


Detroit’s old Chinatown is the next neighborhood to experience significant change. Midtown Detroit Inc., one of Detroit’s main development power players bought Chung’s Restaurant. Their plans for the space have not been announced.


Birmingham Farmers Market is open every Sunday now until October 19 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. In the parking lot of 660 N.Old Woodward Rd. Great street food and flower stalls. Skip if you want produce straight from the farm.


Space is allocated for a new restaurant in the historic brick building facing Harmonie Park on 1452 Randolph St. in Detroit’s Paradise Valley. The restaurant owners and opening date has not been announced.


Chef James Rigato, with partner Ed Mamou, will open his first restaurant in Hazel Park later this summer. The 40 seat restaurant will be called Mabel Gray, named after the ghost who haunts Lake Michigan.
