The luxe version of Starbucks, Starbucks Reserve, is opening not only in Birmingham but in downtown Detroit.
The Westin Book Cadillac, at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Michigan, is getting the special type of Starbucks that aims to feature less commonly available coffee blends and a higher end experience.
The 1,700 foot cafe that replaces the old WBC coffee shop will sit 42 people as well as 18 outside. It’ll also offer pour-overs and Nitro coffee, one of the hottest trends lately.
Nitro makes the coffee more like beer in that it infuses tiny bubbles into the drink, adding a foamy texture and finish.
There has been some debate in the media on what kind of Starbucks it will be, but a release from the Westin Book Cadillac confirms it as a Reserve and the signage inside refers to it as such and the color scheme matches the Reserve stores.
The new Starbucks Reserve opens on Monday, October 2. To kick it off, they’re offering a pastry special for the first few days and all the proceeds from opening day will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
It’ll be open seven days a week. The hours Monday through Saturday are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
