The much anticipated Beacon Park is almost ready to open to the public. The 1.5-acre park located on the west side of downtown Detroit has been under construction since last year. Across Grand River from the beautifully restored Grand Army of the Republic building a park is under construction, paid for by DTE Energy. Today, that park got a name.
