With a stroke of a pen, Governor Rick Snyder has put the last nail in the coffin on film incentives in Michigan. Signing House Bill 4122, now Public Act 117 of 2015 today, all current deals will be honored but no new incentives will be offered by the state of Michigan to bring the film industry or film production into the state. More Than $1.3 Million In Film Incentives Goes To Detroit-Based Exxodus Pictures

The Michigan Film Office approved state incentives for three Michigan-based supernatural and horror film projects. These projects are the first ones approved in fiscal year 2015, culminating in $1,317,977 of incentives being awarded on $3,765,647 of approved production costs for the year.
